Falconwood North - Old English Sheepdog

The handsome North is our purebred Old English Sheepdog.

North was generously gifted to us by our wonderful friend Amy, who had watched us spend several years searching for the right stud male after the dogs we had previously purchased did not achieve the health testing results required for our breeding program.

For several years, we had gifted Amy the stud services of our own Falconwood Maverick, never charging a stud fee. As a heartfelt thank you for our friendship and support over those years, Amy surprised us with North. She knew exactly what we were striving to achieve and believed he would be the perfect fit for Falconwood. She was right!

I will never forget the day Amy arrived at our gate with this tiny ball of white fluff. I fell in love with him the moment I laid eyes on him.

As North has grown, he has exceeded every expectation. He has matured into the most incredible young man, passing all of his comprehensive health testing with fantastic results, he has the most beautiful temperament and has a way of making everyone who meets him fall in love with him.

North has become the foundation sire we had spent years searching for, and we will always be incredibly grateful to Amy for her extraordinary generosity, friendship, and faith in our vision. He is a very special boy and a much loved member of the Falconwood family, and we cannot imagine Falconwood without him.  North will never leave Falconwood.

North is incredible his nick name Naughty North isnt a reflection of him being truely naughty its because he is the joker of the pack, he makes a game of every moment of his life, he makes us smile in every moment.  He bounds around with those giant paws showing off his toys and trying to make the others play chase.  At the end of the day when he comes in to sit with us in front of the TV he is sweet, calm and loving. His stunning looks and blue eyes make it easy to forgive him for digging the garden or climbing into the horse troughs right before coming into the house.   We often say he is the naughtiest but also the best behaved dog in the pack, he does crazy cheeky things but will never disobey and wants only to please.  North had his first litters for us in 2026 and his pups are getting incredible reviews we held back his daughter Rayleigh in hopes she will join our breeding team when she is 2.  So proud of our boy.

Colour: Traditional Blue and White, OES are born black and white and gradually change to blue and white as they mature.

Grooming requirements:  Brush thoroughly daily using a slicker brush and steel comb.

Professional grooming every 3 weeks for bathing, clipping and trimming.

Hip Testing

• Pennhip score: 0.34 - Plain English Explanation: PennHIP measures hip laxity (looseness). Lower scores indicate more stable hips and a lower lifetime risk of hip arthritis. A score of 0.34 is considered Excellent in this breed, reflecting very tight and stable hip joints and well above average for the breed.

DNA testing is one part of Falconwood’s comprehensive health screening program. Our breeding dogs also other relevant health assessments to help us make informed breeding decisions.

A copy of each parent dog’s health testing results is included in our puppy owners’ information pack at the time of collection, providing families with complete transparency regarding their puppy’s parents.

To the best of our knowledge, Falconwood is among the very few Sheepadoodle breeders in Australia that undertake this level of comprehensive health testing, and possibly the only breeder to publicly share the health results of our breeding dogs on our website.

We do not publish the original certificates on our website, as they contain personal information, including owner details and other identifying information. Instead, we provide a clear summary of each dog’s results, while the original documentation is available to our puppy families.

We are incredibly proud of the health results achieved by our dogs. At Falconwood, we are committed to continually reviewing new research, embracing advances in health testing, and making thoughtful breeding decisions so that each generation has the opportunity to be healthier than the last.

Falconwood’s health testing program has evolved over time as new technologies and research have become available. Earlier dogs may have Hip & Elbow VetScoring or PennHIP, while our more recently tested dogs have completed both assessments. Each test provides different information, and together they help us make informed breeding decisions.
