What most people don’t realise when choosing a puppy… Not all puppies are raised the same.  And the difference doesn’t show in photos it shows months later, in your home.

Where Your Puppy Is Raised? 

  • Typical:  Raised in kennels, sheds or separate areas away from daily life. Clean, controlled… but limited.
  • FALCONWOOD:  Raised inside our home, in the middle of real life. Noise. Movement. People. Connection.  Because your home won’t be quiet and controlled so why should their start be?

Human Connection

  • Typical:  Handled when needed. Interaction is scheduled.
  • FALCONWOOD:  Handled constantly. Known individually.  Part of our family from day one.  There’s a difference between a puppy that tolerates people and one that is deeply connected to them.

Exposure to the Real World

  • Typical:  Minimal exposure to protect hygiene and routine.
  • FALCONWOOD:  Raised on a 54-acre hobby farm surrounded by all kinds of animals, children, machinery, visitors and everyday unpredictability.  Confidence isn’t genetic - it’s built.

Health & DNA and The Questions Most Don’t Ask

Ever asked a breeder 

“Can I see the DNA and health testing for both parents?

“Can I physically view the results?”

And if not… why not?

Because the reality is, it’s often one of two things:

A — It hasn’t been done

B — It hasn’t produced results they’re proud to stand behind

At Falconwood, we believe this should never be a grey area.  You should never feel uncomfortable asking for proof.

  • Dogs that do not meet our breeding standards are removed from our breeding program.
  • Results are known, understood and considered in every pairing
  • Transparency is expected not avoided
  • You are provided verifiable copies of the parents health testing and hip assesment doccuments as part of your go home pack on the day you pick up your puppy.
  • You may contact our vet to answer any questions you may have.

Hip Scoring is a Non-Negotiable

  • This is one of the most important and most overlooked parts of choosing a puppy, especially a large breed puppy.
  • At Falconwood:  Both parents are hip scored.  
  • Dogs that do not meet our breeding standards are removed from our breeding program.
  • Not one parent.  Not “we’ll test later.”  Not “it should be fine.”
  • Because hip health is cumulative and small compromises today can become serious issues in the future.  Both Standard Poodles and Old English Sheepdogs are known to carry risk for hip dysplasia.
  • If this isn’t prioritised, it can lead to pain and reduced quality of life, long-term management and in severe cases, hip replacement surgery.  And that’s not a small decision procedures can exceed $10,000–$12,000 per hip.  This is exactly why we refuse to compromise here.

Breeding Focus

  • Typical:  Colour, markings, demand.
  • FALCONWOOD:  Temperament, structure, health and long-term quality.  A beautiful dog means nothing if it can’t live a long, comfortable life.

Daily Life

  • Typical:  Dogs live separately to maintain order and efficiency.
  • FALCONWOOD:  Our dogs live with us as a family. Sleep with us. Raise their puppies alongside us.  They are not a program.  Pups are born in our bedroom where they remain for the first 3 weeks until they move into the puppy bedroom that is also in our home.

  • Because raising a puppy doesn’t stop at 8 weeks… and neither do we.

Our Standard

We don’t breed dogs simply because we can.  If something isn’t right, even slightly we step back.  Because our goal isn’t just to produce puppies… it’s to improve with every generation.
