Sleeping Arrangements

Before leaving us your pup will have already been introduced to a crate.  We don't lock them in, we allow them to move freely in and out of the crate at night and most choose to sleep in them. The crates are fully covered and the room is pitch black from 9pm.  Here at Falconwood we are on 54 acres with no street lights, the pups do not need a night light and will sleep better in full darkness.

Our pups are always sleeping peacefully through the night from 5 weeks old.  This means that when you take your pup home this concept is familiar and comforting not scary.  At 8 weeks old you will be able to close the door as pup will have better bladder control.  We do not feed the pups any food past 5pm but have free access to water until they are put into the crate.  We do put 1/4 cup of water in the crate.  We have a cozy end and a cool end so the pups can move freely to where they are comfortable, we also have a puppy mat folded in half in front of the door for accidents.

Here we like to give the pups 1/4 cup of goats milk in the crate as a reward for walking in themselves, we then cover the crate.  Goats milk is protein so helps them to feel full and content before sleeping.  they love it and will quickly learn that it will be waiting for them.  Too much will cause them to need the toilet.

We recommend Vebo Pet Supplies crates and covers.  Vebo products are high quality and last.  They have super fast shipping, sometimes next day depending on your location.  We use Kmart beds while they are little and then get something more pricey and fancy once the chewing phase is gone.
